Choosing a node
Pick the node closest to you, not the one closest to your audience.
A node is the server your encoder uploads to. It receives your stream once and forwards a copy to each platform. Because the platforms handle delivery to viewers, the only distance that affects your stream quality is the one between you and the node.

You pick your node on the dashboard, under Choose a node and set up OBS. Selecting one rewrites the ingest URL below it. The Nodes page shows the same list with more detail.
Tip
If your stream drops frames while your internet is otherwise fine, try the next nearest node before lowering your bitrate.
